Destination Imagination is a challenge-based learning program that uses science, technology, the arts, math, engineering, and social learning; and pairs that with creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. Inter-Lakes had 11 DI teams this year, seven of them at the elementary level.
Each team got to choose a challenge that focused on a particular area, like acting, engineering, improv or building. They then had to develop a skit with props, costumes, and other required elements, and had to be able to set up and perform the skit in 6 minutes or less!
The Regional Competitions were held in March. One of our elementary level teams won first place at Regionals, finished second at the state level competition on April 2nd, and has now qualified for the Global Finals held in Knoxville, Tennessee from May 24-27!! A huge congratulations goes out to Mrs. Richardson’s team!
