Universal Start End Times

Important Information on Proposed Changes to School Start/End Times and Bus Routes for 2017 - 2018

As a District we have spent part of the year studying a universal start/end time for Inter-Lakes Elementary School, Inter-Lakes Middle Tier and Inter-Lakes High School. In this model, Sandwich Central School would have approximately a twenty (20) minute staggered start/end time from the other two buildings.

This study has included parent forums, online feedback opportunities, student surveys in grades 7 – 12 and a significant review of the impact on: academics, transportation services and routes, traffic patterns on the Inter-Lakes campus, and athletics and extra-curricular activity schedules.

Our school and district leadership teams analyzed all of these factors, identified the positive impacts, and identified ways to mitigate the challenges. As a result of this work, we believe the positive results for student well-being and learning outweigh the challenges that this change may present. Therefore, on Tuesday night (6/13 at 6:00 p.m., Humiston Building), a universal start/end time with one tier K – 12 busing will be recommended to the School Board for implementation for the 2017 – 2018 school year. The proposed changes and current times are outlined in the table below.

School Bus Transportation Services

Notice is hereby given that the Inter-Lakes School District will receive sealed proposals for School Bus Transportation Services in accordance with the specifications, terms and conditions.

The submission of a proposal shall be conclusive evidence that the Proposer has read and understands the information contained in the specifications.

The RFP for the School Bus Transportation Services is located HERE or call 603-279-7947.

Three (3) copies and one (1) signed of the proposal must be submitted in a sealed envelope, plainly marked:

Proposal submitted by fax or electronic mail will not be considered.

All proposals must be typed. Handwritten proposals will not be considered.

Proposals must be received no later than June 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM.

A Mandatory Pre-proposal Meeting will be held at the above address on May 30, 2017 at 12:00 AM.  Attendance at the pre-proposal meeting is required in order to submit a proposal. Proposals will not be accepted from contractors who do not attend this meeting.

OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE INTER-LAKES
SCHOOLS’ FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM

The Inter-Lakes School District is requesting proposals for the operation and management of their schools’ food service programs.

The term of the awarded contract will be for one year, July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, with the option for four additional one-year renewals to be exercised by the District.

All interested Food Service Management Companies must attend the pre-proposal conference on May 12, 2017 at 9 a.m. in the Conference Room at SAU #2. Complete proposals are due no later than 9:00 a.m. on June 9, 2017 and will be publicly opened at 3:00 p.m. on June 9, 2017.

Inter-Lakes School District - K-8 Parent/Teacher Conferences - Monday, February 13, 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians:

 
On Monday, February 13, 2017 we had planned to have an early release day for students in grades K-8.  Conferences were to be held in the afternoon.  Students in grades 9-12 were going to have a full day of school.
 
We have missed considerable time due to weather so far this school year.  A snowstorm is forecasted for this Sunday into Monday.  This might require us to cancel the day completely or have a two hour delay on Monday.  
Based on those circumstances, at this point in time, Monday will be a full day of school for all students in K-12.  There will be no conferences held.  You will be called by a school staff member or teacher to reschedule conferences that were originally scheduled for Monday.
 
If school is cancelled or delayed on Monday, it will be announced in the normal manner.
